Dessert Sliders

Who’s excited for Super Bowl Sunday?! We have no loyalty to either team but are both big football fans so we’ll definitely be tuning in. Honestly though, I think the best part about Super Bowl Sunday are the commercials and the food! We’re not going anywhere this year but in the past, the food spread has always been a big incentive for me to attend Super Bowl watch parties.

A few years ago, I made these Dessert Sliders for a Super Bowl potluck and they were a huge hit so I decided to bring them back this year. Not only are they the cutest little things, they taste incredible too! I can guarantee these will not disappoint – whether you’re going out or staying in – and they’re pretty simple to whip up!

Dessert Sliders Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 Package [24 ct.] Reese’s Peanut Butter Break & Bake Cookies
  • 1 Box Fudge Brownie Mix [+water, oil, eggs]
  • 1 Tbsp. Sesame Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp. Honey
  • 2 Tbsp. Water
  • 12 oz. Cream Cheese Frosting
  • Green Food Coloring
  • 1 Cup Shredded Coconut Flakes
  • Red & Yellow Gel/ Frosting/Icing

Directions:

  1. Roll cookies into balls and bake according to directions [~10 minutes at 350º], then set aside
  2. Mix brownie batter according to directions
  3. Using a cupcake pan, fill each circle approximately 1/2 inch with brownie batter and bake [~15 minutes at 350º]
  4. Combine honey & water in a small dish
  5. Lightly brush half of the cookies with the honey & water mixture then immediately sprinkle sesame seeds on top, let sit
  6. Mix green food coloring and coconut flakes in small bowl until covered evenly
  7. Carefully extract brownies using a knife or small spatula and cut brownie tops, if needed [cutting the top is optional]
  8. Assemble dessert sliders
    • Spread cream cheese frosting on the underside of the cookie with sesame seeds
    • Top brownie with green coconut flakes
    • Add red & yellow gel icing on top of coconut flakes
    • Sandwich brownie and toppings between two cookies [sesame seed side on top facing out]

And that’s all there is to it! To secure the bottom cookie, you can add more frosting, use a toothpick or wrap in parchment paper. The finished product is the cutest little dessert slider that looks like the real deal. Enjoy and good luck to those rooting for a team this weekend!
