Conchiglie alla Sarda

Conchiglie alla Sarda

This recipe initially started out as a copycat attempt of Conchiglie alla Sarda, one of our favorite dishes from Topo Gigio - a small, neighborhood Italian restaurant in Chicago. IYKYK. And if you don't know, it's Italian sausage in a tomato cream sauce over shell pasta. Simply amazing. Anyways, we were desperate to recreate it after we moved to Chicago and "made up" this recipe in the process. Click here for the full recipe!

Palmer Anne’s Birth Story

Palmer Anne’s Birth Story

I've had this in my drafts now for well over a year and I wasn't sure if I would ever hit publish on it because it's a very personal story but also incredibly special and one I never want to forget. And as much as this blog is for you, it's also for me, and serves as a written record of life's ups and downs and everything in between. It just didn't make sense to leave out something so monumental and pivotal in my life so here we are - Palmer Anne's birth story.

Rome, Italy [in 24 Hours]

Rome, Italy [in 24 Hours]

This post really highlights how much you can pack into just one day! I'm excited to FINALLY be getting our Rome itinerary down on paper and to be able to share it with you all. To be completely transparent, it's been a few years since we visited Rome and obviously a lot has changed since then but we visited some of the main attractions which are staples in any Rome Itinerary. While visiting them may look a little different these days, they've lasted the test of time and will come through this pandemic, like they have so many others in the past. Maternity Jeans Review

Maternity Jeans Review

I'm 24 weeks pregnant today and my regular jeans no longer fit so I recently started ordering a bunch of maternity jeans to figure out which I like best. They range in price from under $50 to almost $200 and I was pretty surprised with the results so I wanted to share in case anyone is in a similar situation. Spring Break Style Guides

Spring Break Style Guides

Around this time of year I always get stir crazy for a beach vacation. This year is no different but between COVID and being pregnant, I'm not sure it's in the cards for us [though I haven't given up hope quite yet]. In lieu of an actual trip to plan or shop for, I've resorted to making style guides with everything I would be packing for a warm weather destination this spring. Toddler Breakfast Ideas

Toddler Breakfast Ideas

Thinking of and making healthy-ish meals for Palmer's breakfast, lunch and dinner can get pretty daunting and often time consuming. Of all the meals though, I think breakfast is probably my favorite because we've got a pretty solid group of options we rotate through weekly. All of them can be made in under 10 minutes or prepared ahead of time and frozen for easy preparation. Click in to continue reading!

KV Book Review: Daisy Jones & The Six

KV Book Review: Daisy Jones & The Six

I'm pretty torn on my opinion about Daisy Jones & The Six. On the one hand, I thought the interview style writing by Jenkins Reid is original and refreshing. I think she did a brilliant job telling a compelling story from multiple perspectives in a way that really brings the narrative to life. Click in to see how many stars I gave this book!
