I'm pretty torn on my opinion about Daisy Jones & The Six. On the one hand, I thought the interview style writing by Jenkins Reid is original and refreshing. I'm starting a series I've been wanting to do forever focused on visiting Chicago during the four different seasons. My plan is to highlight different things to do and places to eat that are fitting for that particular season. I've formatted this post like an itinerary and tried my best to remain geographically and logistically conscious since Chicago and it's charming neighborhoods can be challenging to navigate if you aren't familiar with the city. Traveling with a baby or toddler can be very intimidating and certainly isn't easy but a little planning and preparation can go a long way. Kevin and I have never shied away from a road trip and adding a baby to the mix definitely created a layer of complexity but it still hasn't stopped us. Especially now during the pandemic, car travel is the safest method for our family to get around with Palmer in tow.
Overall, I most enjoyed hearing the perspective from French wine country during WWII. Even though this book is fiction and the characters are made up, there was still quite a few real facts and events depicted throughout. As someone who loves historical fiction, specifically the WWII era, I sometimes forget the part France played in the war so this was a nice change. Click in to continue reading my review!
Who's excited for Super Bowl Sunday?! We have no loyalty to either team but are both big football fans so we'll definitely be tuning in. Honestly though, I think the best part about Super Bowl Sunday are the commercials and the food! We're not going anywhere this year but in the past, the food spread has always been a big incentive for me to attend Super Bowl watch parties.
It's hard to believe we're coming up on the one year anniversary of all the COVID stay-at-home advisories. It's been a weird year for sure but not all entirely bad. We've saved money, tried tons of new recipes, completed a bunch of home renovation/organization projects, started reading again, witnessed all of Palmer's developmental milestones and growth firsthand and spent tons of time together as a family.
