It took me a few chapters to really get into The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo but once I did, I really enjoyed it. Similar to her in story character, I was immediately charmed by Evelyn Hugo and invested in her life story.

I thought the The Paris Seamstress was a well written, easy to read book. It takes place at the beginning of France's invasion during WWII and follows a protagonist as she flees to New York and starts her own fashion label.
I literally cried every time I opened this book to read. Not sure if it's my pregnancy hormones or the deep love Elsa has for her children that is palpable through Hannah's writing but my goodness, this story was heartbreakingly beautiful. If I'm being completely honest, I read this book back in May or June of last year and totally forgot to write the review. In hindsight, my memory of this book is that it's twisted, sad and slightly unbelievable. Click in to finish reading what I thought of Then She Was Gone.
I loved the Vanishing Half - it's beautiful and heartbreaking all at once. It is a beautiful portrayal of how inequality and privilege can shape our lives. It offers insightful perspectives and highlights our internal struggle with self identity illustrating just how different humans can be from one another. I'm pretty torn on my opinion about Daisy Jones & The Six. On the one hand, I thought the interview style writing by Jenkins Reid is original and refreshing. I think she did a brilliant job telling a compelling story from multiple perspectives in a way that really brings the narrative to life. Click in to see how many stars I gave this book!
Overall, I most enjoyed hearing the perspective from French wine country during WWII. Even though this book is fiction and the characters are made up, there was still quite a few real facts and events depicted throughout. As someone who loves historical fiction, specifically the WWII era, I sometimes forget the part France played in the war so this was a nice change. Click in to continue reading my review!
If you're into historical fiction, this is probably a must read. Even if you don't love the narrative, it's really interesting to learn about the concentration camps from such a unique perspective.
I thought it would be fun to do a roundup of all the books I posted in 2020 and list them in order by my ranking. If there was a tie, I ordered them how I would recommend them.
