Easter is right around the corner so it's time to start thinking about Easter Baskets! I'm in the process of ordering a few items for Palmer so I figured I'd share some of the items I'm currently eyeing.

In an uncustomary act of gifting, Kevin surprised me with the Peloton Bike for Christmas! I was SHOCKED. Like, literally more surprised than the day he proposed. I had been, not so subtly, dropping hints for months about wanting one but he never seemed all that interested in the Peloton hype. Click here to read our first impressions!
I loved the Vanishing Half - it's beautiful and heartbreaking all at once. It is a beautiful portrayal of how inequality and privilege can shape our lives. It offers insightful perspectives and highlights our internal struggle with self identity illustrating just how different humans can be from one another. This recipe initially started out as a copycat attempt of Conchiglie alla Sarda, one of our favorite dishes from Topo Gigio - a small, neighborhood Italian restaurant in Chicago. IYKYK. And if you don't know, it's Italian sausage in a tomato cream sauce over shell pasta. Simply amazing. Anyways, we were desperate to recreate it after we moved to Chicago and "made up" this recipe in the process. Click here for the full recipe!
I've had this in my drafts now for well over a year and I wasn't sure if I would ever hit publish on it because it's a very personal story but also incredibly special and one I never want to forget. And as much as this blog is for you, it's also for me, and serves as a written record of life's ups and downs and everything in between. It just didn't make sense to leave out something so monumental and pivotal in my life so here we are - Palmer Anne's birth story.
This post really highlights how much you can pack into just one day! I'm excited to FINALLY be getting our Rome itinerary down on paper and to be able to share it with you all. To be completely transparent, it's been a few years since we visited Rome and obviously a lot has changed since then but we visited some of the main attractions which are staples in any Rome Itinerary. While visiting them may look a little different these days, they've lasted the test of time and will come through this pandemic, like they have so many others in the past. I'm 24 weeks pregnant today and my regular jeans no longer fit so I recently started ordering a bunch of maternity jeans to figure out which I like best. They range in price from under $50 to almost $200 and I was pretty surprised with the results so I wanted to share in case anyone is in a similar situation. Click in to see which maternity jeans were my favorite!
Around this time of year I always get stir crazy for a beach vacation. This year is no different but between COVID and being pregnant, I'm not sure it's in the cards for us [though I haven't given up hope quite yet]. In lieu of an actual trip to plan or shop for, I've resorted to making style guides with everything I would be packing for a warm weather destination this spring.
