Welcome back! We’ve just returned from an unforgettable getaway to Grenada [Gre-NAY-da] to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday with friends. Setting foot on this enchanting island for the first time was nothing short of magical, especially when we checked into a stunning new property. From the warm hospitality of the locals to the delectable cuisine and the breathtaking beaches, Grenada truly captured our hearts.

Now, don’t get me wrong, while we enjoyed Grenada, it didn’t quite claim the top spot on my list of Caribbean destinations. In all fairness, we chose to spend most of our time unwinding at the resort, missing out on some of the island’s must-see attractions and unique experiences. As much as I adore ticking off sightseeing boxes, sometimes, there’s nothing more indulgent than simply doing nothing at all. And that’s precisely what we did.

Truthfully, we probably could’ve saved time and money by heading to Cancun, but for avid explorers like us, I’m glad we could check Grenada off our list. With its undeniable charm, safety, ease of navigation, and a plethora of fine dining options and adventurous activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
But instead of detailing our Grenada itinerary – which consisted mostly of sleep, beach, eat, repeat – let’s dive into a review of the resort we called home, Silversands Beach House. This brand-new haven, which opened its doors in February 2024, is nestled away on Portici Beach. With 28 individual villas, some boasting direct beach access and others perched along the cliffside offering breathtaking ocean vistas, it’s a true sanctuary. Silversands Beach House is peaceful and refined and the epitome of luxury. More on what we enjoyed most about Grenada and Silversands Beach house below.

What We Liked About Silversands Beach House
Convenient Location – Let’s talk proximity to the airport, shall we? We’re talking less than a five-minute ride between the two. After a long journey from Chicago, navigating through customs and settling into our room was a breeze. Within the hour, we were soaking up the sun with a refreshing beverage in hand. And in case you’re worried about noise pollution from nearby air traffic, fear not – we didn’t hear a single plane throughout our entire stay.
Exceptional Service – From the moment we were whisked away from the airport, every encounter with the staff was marked by warmth, professionalism, and a genuine eagerness to cater to our needs. Whether it was beachside service or a meal at the upscale restaurant, every team member made us feel right at home. This is the kind of place where the staff greets you by name with a smile every morning – talk about hospitality!

Beach & Pool – Call me a sucker for infinity pools, but my FOMO usually draws me to the beach in these situations. How can you resist a beach with water so blue it puts the sky to shame? Thankfully, at Silversands Beach House, you don’t have to choose – you get the best of both worlds. Whether you’re in the mood for a dip in the pool or a stroll along the serene shoreline, the choice is yours.

Boutique Luxury – Unlike the bustling atmosphere of an all-inclusive resort, Silversands Beach House offers a more intimate, boutique experience. Tucked away from the crowds on a quiet stretch of beach, you’ll find peace and tranquility without having to jostle for a prime spot. It’s the perfect escape for those who prefer a more low-key, luxurious setting.

Brand New Elegance – When it comes to accommodations, I always gravitate towards newly opened properties. They tend to be cleaner, more modern, and often more affordable than their established counterparts. While there may be a few minor kinks to iron out, the freshness and modern amenities are well worth it.

Silversands Amenities – With two properties on the island – Silversands Beach House and Silversands Grenada – guests have access to a plethora of amenities. Three restaurants, two pools, an incredible spa and various on-property activities, there’s no shortage of ways to unwind and indulge. Plus, with a complimentary shuttle between the two properties, exploring is a breeze.

Fine Dining – I was thoroughly impressed by the fine dining options in Grenada. Whether you’re in the mood for upscale Asian cuisine, casual beachside bites, or a gourmet dining experience, there’s something to satisfy every craving. And if you’re feeling adventurous, don’t miss out on the local culinary gems – rumor has it, there’s a hidden gem tucked away in someone’s home serving up the best food on the island.

Our stay at Silversands Beach House was overall enjoyable, although it didn’t quite win a permanent spot in our vacation lineup. We encountered some hiccups with the Panoramic Ocean View room we initially booked. While the view itself was stunning, an unsightly green fence was visible in our otherwise picturesque scene. Unsure if this was a permanent fixture or temporary from recent construction, it did detract from the overall ambiance. I called to see if we could switch rooms and was told no initially. We then had issues with the hot water, the closet didn’t have a bar to hang clothes and I didn’t love that the shower and toilet shared an open space. Thankfully, after expressing our additional concerns, the staff agreed to relocate us. Thankfully, our new room exceeded our expectations, and we encountered no further issues throughout the remainder of our stay.

If you’re considering a trip to Grenada or Silversands Beach House, I hope this post helps!
